Indigenous partnerships and community investment
Engagement
Susan Earth Insights is committed to building respectful, long term relationships with Indigenous peoples and the communities where we operate across the USA, Canada, Australia, and Europe. We recognize the unique rights, interests, and knowledge of Indigenous and local communities and we seek to create shared value through meaningful engagement, agreements, and investment.
We engage early and often with Indigenous and local communities on our projects. This includes consultation on environmental and social impacts, opportunities for employment and procurement, and support for community-led initiatives.
We work with Indigenous and local communities through consultation processes, impact benefit agreements (IBAs), and ongoing dialogue across our operating regions. Our goal is to ensure that communities benefit from our activities through employment, procurement, capacity building, and financial participation. We respect Indigenous and local knowledge and incorporate it where appropriate into our planning and environmental management.
Our operations create jobs and economic activity in the regions where we work. We prioritize local hiring and procurement where feasible and support local businesses through our supply chain. We also contribute to regional infrastructure and economic diversification initiatives in partnership with municipalities and development organizations.
We invest in community programs that support education, health, and environment. This includes scholarships for students in mining and environmental disciplines, support for local schools and training centres, and partnerships with post-secondary institutions. We also support environmental and cultural initiatives that are important to our host communities.
We are committed to being a trusted partner and a positive presence in the regions where we operate.
